This summer we celebrated an incredibly special accomplishment of one of our Girls’ Residential Program participants, Diane.
Diane is a beautiful Korean, bi-lingual 15 year old who became a leader among peers, in particular to a girl named Sunny.
Through a sting, 14 year old Sunny was rescued and brought to Wellspring Living for an overnight emergency placement until she could be reunited with her family in another state. Over the past year she had been trafficked along the east coast.
Traumatized and only speaking Korean made this experience especially fragile for Sunny. Diane quickly introduced herself in Korean, assuring her safety.
Because of Diane’s support, Sunny’s transition back to her family was extremely smooth. Diane received the prestigious National Director’s Award from Washington D.C. after the FBI recognized her beneficial efforts and support to the FBI.
We are grateful that Wellspring Living continues to be a far-reaching and impactful organization for survivors.
